Rebuilding recaro's

Hi guys,

I have been looking into touching up my recaro's recently.

Anyways, just thought i'd share some information I have come accross.

Firstly, THIS online store, stocks bolster foam replacement, backing foam replacements, and materials etc for the DC2R, DC5R, EK9, EP3 seats. They also have Recaro seat covers... which fit snug unlike the traditional throwovers.

I have come accross this PDF document, which is a step by step guide on how to replace a side bolster.


Anyways, would you bother rebuilding your recaro's. Would you DIY, or have a pro shop do it for you?

i think it would be worth doing some sort of group buy im sure heaps of dc2 and dc5 guys have his problem where inconsiderate ppl or previous owner really didnt care about the seats.

Yeah as my car is a daily driver, i'm going to put a new bolster in, with new fabric for the bolter, then get the Recaro fitted seat covers to keep them all schmick.

It's either I make my current seats nice again (they aren't that bad come to think of it), or get Brides... so i've chosen the cheaper option.

Its going to be EPIC watching me put the new bolster in though. hahaha.

I've been offered a discount if I buy a few item from them. We can organise a group buy, but I can't pay for a group buy. Someone else want to organise it...? Or else, i'm going to fly solo and get these myself.

I ordered two of them a while ago, along with all the seat fabric, haven't had a chance to put it in, but depending on price i may order another two.

There still pretty damn pricey in my opinion, although an aussie upholsterer would charge more to do it, damn stupid insane aussie labour rates. they think there dr's or something.
