    removing adhesive residue

hey guys, i was wondering wats safe to use to remove adhesive residue? im thinking of taking my type-r spoiler off, and without a doubt the foam padding underneath will leave a sticky residue. can i use like turpentine or methylated spirits to get rid of the residue? or will that kill my paint too ..? if so, what products am i after?
    thanks in advance

Eucalyptus oil is the best or Goo gone. I have found that metho doesn't work too well or any other cleaning product.

I use a combination of eucalyptus oil and wax & grease remover. Seems to do the trick when it comes to getting rid of glue
