It's only a matter of time before the hybrids go too. Check out YouTube for the new FCX Clarity. It's the first proper hydrogen powered car to go on sale in the US.

but typeR's are light cars with small engines.. not that uneconomical really. i get 8L/100km in my "cruisy" driving... pretty damn good for 105hp/L NA with 4 seats, a boot, roof etc

I dont think Honda should or will can their sports cars...

sports cars that are light can be almost as economical as tiny engined econo-boxes... using cylinder de-activation technology.

Imagine the next S2000 replacement -> S3000 V6 that runs as a 2.0L 4 or even a 1.5L 3 when cruising and switches to a 3.0L 6 when your accelerating hard or with the press of a button.

No NSX, no Integra, no Civic hatch and the S2000 is having a 10th birthday soon. They already have stopped making sports cars.

In the opinion of Japanese tuners the FD2 is a great car, but not really a Civic because they always considered the Civic a hatch. Murakami-san called it a 4 door Integra with a Civic badge.

The S2000 is a very old car. What I meant was that Honda don't have a future proof sportscar range. They have all but given up on future development of specialist sportscars.

i understand and your right, it looks that way... but i just hope that its not true.. i hope under the surface the guys who were working on the canceled nsx will now switch to the s3000 replacement for the s2000.. which will come in coupe and roadster.
