sound system is excess weight imo!

If you want quality, dont get anything made in China (this includes 99% of JB hifi stock)

with regards to the wires and where to run them
-i've decided to run power wire from amp along passenger side thru glovebox grommet
-run the RCA down driver side

with the speaker wires, can i just run them down from the speakers/crossovers down their respective sides (i.e. run the driver side speaker wire down driver side and run the passengerside speaker wire down passenger side)?

what about the remote wire? where should that be run?

i would run speaker wires down teh drivers side if that's where your RCAs are gonna be run. I agree with eddie in running it behind the deck and using stock speaker wiring. it was sufficient for me when I was running my focal 165v2 off a clarion apx400.4.

i'd run remote wire down the passenger side with your power cable. If you ca't find the remote wire behind the deck, the next best thing is to tap into the cig lighter/acc socket and run along with the power cable.

ground the amp to the strut brackets or seat.

you will if you're running the OEM HU or if your HU does not have preouts.

however if your amp has high/speaker level inputs you wont need a line converter.

                    blue w/ white stripe.

                    external amplifier control power lead

acc is for your cars ignititon, so when you switch the car on the HU powers up, key out -> hu turns off.

just a thought....why dont you supply all the cable and stuff and let the audio shop fit it for $150? save time and it'll be safer

Speakers are different, period. Im pretty sure that Hertz or Polk Momo or audison would fkn RAPE those shitty pioneer/cadence/any other brand at jb

That is, if you want pure quality

i've read that if worst comes to worst and u had not remote wire then ACC is the way to go, but ur amp will be constantly on.

i know its so much easier if i get them to do it noodleman, but trying to save money since i aint got all that much to play with, plus wanna do this myself

no your amp will not constantly be on if it's connected to your acc wire. That is relayed with the ignition so is only +12v if your key is in and turned to Acc / On.

I would still prefer to get it from the cig lighter socket as opposed to the acc wire though, just to try and draw less current from the HU power. It's in close proximity to the HU anyway being just below the DIN

lol sorry i meant constantly on when the car is turned on and turns off with the car.
i didnt meant constantly on 24/7

What about the "external amplifier control power lead"?

Connect the HU's external amplifier control power lead to your amplifier's remote connector. Disregard the acc cable for the amplifier. The acc wire behind is for the head unit only.

                                -->--(acc)-->--[HEADUNIT]-->--(external amplifier control power lead)-->--[AMP]
