getting rid of writing on tyres

    hey guys,

just got some new tyres and they have white writing on the side. just wondering whats the best stuff to rub it off?? i tried using acetone but i'll be there for half the day trying to rub it off.. i dont have that amount of spare time so wanting to know if there is an easier way without damaging the tyre/eating into the rubber.

    thanks!!

yeh if i had advan written on the side i woudl probably keep it.. the stupid manufacturer didnt even do the writing properly. i think it would look better without it.. i'll post some pics up when i get around to uploading it off my phone.

I reckon that writing is racing HOT. Unless you're trying to put these tyres on a lux-o-barge.. but why would you do that?

that might damage the tyre and make it unsafe....

Is it on both sides? I know with the old bi-directional Bridgestone Eagers they only did it on one side so you had a choice as to whether you wanted to display it or not.

If I change the nut behind the wheel then my sloppy lines improve and I can get some consistency to sort out my iffy handling, my worrying lack of braking ability goes away, after that I can start fretting about my suspicious lack of straight line grunt.
