    Nubby question but i need an answer...

    So i replaced my front lowbeam globes today.
    original is 55w, the guy at supercheap said if i want brighter lights i should get the 100w globes isntead. I did buy them but my bro reckons i shouldnt have because it might melt the wires or something going into my lights...

    HELP MY NUBNESS!

    yes, you probably shouldnt upgrade the wattage as it can lead to melt downs.

    Your brother is right.

      Should invest in some HIDs. They will probably last longer then aftermarket globes.

                Dont do higher watts
                Just go with higher brightness!

                I think standard globes shine at 3-4000k (common term user to measure colour/intensity of light, higher the brighter, 5000k 6000k 8000k etc)

                4000k light seems yellow from a distance (normal lights.
                5-6000k start going very white (like a white LED’s), this is the highest you can go without going HID (High Intensity Discharge) lights, if you go higher/brighter then 6000k on standard globes, you will lose on visibility and distance)

                7000/8000 will start going blue! HID is required unless you want to drive blind!
                9000+ is crazy! will start looking very blue/purple!

                6000k is the most common degree used from car enthusiast (is required) as they are bright and cop’s don’t seem to mind them too much as they are commonly seen on Audi’s and Euro’s etc

                8000 next in line, very bight with a noticeable blue flicker, every dangerous if you use these without projector headlights as they blind incoming traffic

                i'm sure some1 else here can explain it better then i can.
                i have 6000k HID in my VTiR DC.
                you can get these fitted at around $200. PM me if you need help. i know a few suppliers that can help you out

                hope this helps!

                      low beams.
                      It's ok, they woudlnt return them because i had installed them into my car and apparently i should have returned them before hand :/ so what ever. I just bought some philips globes which are 50% brighter at 55w. I'm happy with that at least.

                      Next is white parkers, mine are yellow right now :/

                        you can get white LED parkers anywhere
                        you will need at least 4led parkers, they can cost anywhere from $10-$15
                        the only catch is that LED dont last very line

                        and single LED parkers last a white but are not bright enough

                        enjoy

                          55w = 12v, 4.167A
                          100w = 12v, 8.33A

                          So the shit thing is it will melt your wires as the lights would have drawn to much current. Fuses would have done shit as they are usually around 10-15A.

                          If i was you i would ring up there head office and make a complaint telling them that the sales assistant gave you false and misleading advice and you want your money back. It may only be $20 or so but its the principle
