J's exhaust is not loud contrary to what people believe. not loud on dc2 as well.

Except you get 70RR which is 70mm ......all the others are not loud at all.....
RM-01A is quiet if you have stock header....once you change header it won't be as quiet.....ask TeMp and he can tell you......

Does having a header change the sound of the exhaust or just amplify what it sounds like anyway?

i noticed with my system that on idle is was no different to when i had just a cat-back on.
but when revs climb past about 3.5K - 4K it sounds very 'open'..

it can totally change the sound depending on the header.

example putting the sex force 4-1 on the dc2r gives it a burble due to the uneven length pipes.

                          .

I know its a old combo but i had toda headers straight through to mugen cat-back which wasnt very old until vtec. but i use fujitsubo on my RX-7 and its almost as quiet as standard.

If you are after a quiet exhaust, then go for the Fujitsubo RM01A exhaust. I'm running the RM01A + Fujitsubo 4-2-1 extractors on my DC2R, and it's not that much louder than stock on idle, but you get a good gain in performance with this combo. Sounds nice once you hit Vtec tho!

But if you are after something that's loud, maybe go for the Buddyclub range - they are loud!

I have just put toda headers on, RM01A cat back and mugen air intake. Will be writing up a full review in the next day or so. very nice combo though..

I have spoon header with high flow cat, and used to have it with the RM01 combo. It's not that loud, I even took the axle back out and custom a straight pipe to replace it, still I think it's not that loud.

The huge resonator on the b-pipe that reduce most of the noise.

PG is a lil louder, I'd say loud enough for most average guys

Then, I once sold the RM01 and custom straight pipe, yup straight from the header no resonator nothing, and that's LOUD!!! as hell
around wakefield no matter where my car is you still can hear it from the side wall
