    UK Civic hatch for Oz...

    http://editorial.carsales.com.au/car...w/2931179.aspx

Are Honda Aus trying to confuse the shit out of the Australian public? We already have two different Accords, now we will have two different Civics.

I personally think it's a stupid idea. They should quit messing around with this and bring us the FD2R!!!

      Yeah, well we do!

However, now we will have "Basic" models of the FN "nugget" to go alongside what we already have! Too many models Honda....

Just ditch the Euro Civic thing altogether, it's too expensive because of exchange rate factors. I honestly think we're better off just with the entire FD range, including the Type R. The new model Jazz will take care of everyone else's needs.

Freakygeek for Honda's new product planner! Speaking of which, that job is currently open and if I was remotely qualified, I'd be all over that like a fatboy who loves cake.

              *Applies*

Now, all we need is someone to work for the petroleum board so we can get decent fuel.

                hehe... thanks mugs...

FD2R would be the first thing on my agenda if I were in that role.

Working in the industry I can tell you that the FD2R is NOT what Honda Australia needs to stimulate sales. It would contribute less than a couple of hundred sales per annum.

If I were in the position I would be bringing out the diesel range and the Euro wagon.

$35 grand for that ????? Uh hu when pigs fly.

Man I should have applied for that role, although I think i'd be a little over qualified.

                    shame it closes may 12th.

although i would buy the FD2R in a heartbeat if it was available here in oz, i have to agree.

honda aus management have no idea. wtf they thinking?
i think keeping their lineup simple - jazz, FD civic range (including FD R), Accord Euro (inc diesels), and the S2000 while its still around. bin the stupid thai accords and euro civic. thats my 2c.

Thank god none of us are in that job, the current suggestions mostly suck.

Honda has a lot of nice cars we just dont get any of them

haha... surely you can understand the humility in my suggestion...

But Honda need a proper hero car in the lineup IMO. Sure, it wouldn't necessarily make enough sales on its own to be worthwhile, but the effects on sales of the models existence would surely be beneficial. I don't think the point of any Type R (well, originally, anyway) was to be an outright sales success. Nowadays I do tend to wonder... since the accountants have taken over.

I think the Thai Accords have their place. I just don't think we should have two different cars called "accord" ... maybe call one the Inspire (JDM name) or something like that.
