I just get ready to purchase this brand coilover, but this issue just make stay back and think again. What you guys think?

Firstly how much are you going to be paying for them so maybe othes can suggest what else you might be able to purchase.

Honestly its probably pretty low chances that this may happen to you if you bought the coilovers but then again it is still a chance.

If i where in your position i would probably save my money and go for a more reputable company for coilovers.....tein, zeal, ohlins etc. At least you know their stuff is A grade.

Honestly i think suspension companies like tein or zeal would shit all over it.

Lets put it this way who do you think is better at making computers Sony or Dell. Obviously the company that makes computers for a living where as Sony makes a whole lot of things. Not to say they are not good but you would think the company that prides themselves on making one thing would be better.

Same thing goes for suspension. If all the R&D money goes to just researching suspension.
Look how many touring cars and major jap companies use suspension like zeal, tein or ohlins. I dont think ive seen on major jap tuning company use buddyclub coilovers apart from buddyclub themselves.

Alot of ppl say that buddyclub are really good etc, but alot of the time its because they havent actually had any experiences with any other bigger better coilovers. So they cant really say these are great cause they havent tried anything else. Alot of ppl fall in love with the products they buy (even i do it sometimes) even when the product isnt that good, reason being they havent tried better.

The list goes on for awesome coilovers that get more expensive and are even better than alot of the tein, zeal ohlins stuff. Example - QUANTUM RACING SUSPENSION

I agree with macoman. Buddy club has built their current popularity on being a good product for the price. However there will always be a better quality product out there. It is up to you to decide whether buddy club will be okay for your uses, or whether you need something higher up the quality and expense scale.

However it is worth asking whether we would see as many failures of say Zeal coilovers for example if there were as many of these sold as there are Buddy Club. I think it is unacceptable for a suspension part to have experienced what is clearly catastrophic failure due to fatigue, probably after a crack developed.

Yeah but when it is obviously a design fault where its happened to a number of ppl and its the exact same problem.

Thanks you guys opinion, I am quite agree all of them.
And this kind of failure is unacceptable for me, because it may cause very serious accident (obviously it is a failed weld cause it).
I may invest more $$ for more reliable coilover.

I don't think youd want a suspension piece failing, i mean buddyclub exhausts breaking at the welds i think you could live with.

I just don't think I would trust a company that copies the hytech header and does it poorly enough so that it needs modifications to fit. I'm not talking about the tranny brace either.

Maybe Buddyclub should stick to selling stickers, at least when they fly off you wouldn't care as much.

Never hear of spoon or mugen suspension or parts failing ?

Wow that's crazy. Although as he also mentioned it could have originally been caused by the crash/off he had a year prior to that.

But either way, it's still pretty bad.

Only thing is though, this is not one incident fine enough it could have been a determining factor to why the coilovers broke but what about the other cases?

Yeah I suppose not every car they have busted on were in a major/big accident.

Even though there is probably a small chance of it happening I'm glad I ended up buying Tein :O

would be good 2 see what one of the buddyclub reps have 2 say about these incidences ?

i cant imagine what would happen if this happened on the track (where my car spends most of its life) when travelling 120km/h+!

Super Street is a popular model, wat about HA? The funny thing is I can't find HA on Tein official website.

Tein is rather reputable.

and good prices can be had from the USA with the current exchange rate...
