    Air intake

    Hi guys!
im thinking of getting a new intake for my dc2R! can you suggest which is the best and where i can get my hands on one and approx how much they are! ive seen that alot of people get rid of the stock cold air intake and just go with an unenclosed filter in the engine bay... i was just wondering... wouldnt that be going backwards because you are then taking hot air from in the engine bay rather than colder air from outside the engine bay? im not sure if the better flow counter acts that hotter air or what!
    advice is greatly appreciated!
    thanks!

      Depends on your budget.

Unenclosed filter in the engine bay meaning a open pod filter, or just taking off the airbox cover?

Take out the resonator and drove a K&N filter in. If you don't like that, but a Inen or the Mugen. The injen is half the price of the Mugen.

        For budget purposes;

would removing the resonator improve power at all? Or just sound?

Does anybody know how to remove it? Is it a bolt on part?

Cant seem to get access to it....

You would have to take out teh front bar to access it.

Once you take out the resonator usually people DIY a CAI piping from the airbox to the front.

"Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horse power is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you."

Ok... my next question is - how do you remove the front bar?

Can you do it with the car on the ground? Or do u need to jack it up?

                    hahaha yeah exactly.

I think I found a diagram in the service manual that explains it pretty well.

Will prob give it a go this weekend!

Will let you all know how it goes!

i took the resonator off without removing the front bar... and installed my Injen by only remvoing the driver side splash guard....

                      i love my Injen
