Ryno Insurance No Longer Insuring ITR?

Hey... I just received mail today and the envelope had Ryno Insurance on it, and I thought "oh no, I have to bust my wallet again to renew my insurance"... I open it up and its a single page letter and I'm thinking, shouldn't it be a few pages to outline my details and how much they're asking for...

Then I read it and it says that due to their underwriting guidelines, they're not able to renew my insurance... I haven't called them up yet, but just wondering if anyone else knows what the deal is...

Is it that they don't want to insure ITR anymore, or is it because of my bolt-on mods or what? I haven't made one claim in the one year I was with them and I'm over 25 already with a 65% NCB...

Now I need go through the whole thing of searching and getting quotes from other companies again.

aami wont insure you for mods im pretty sure.

Well theres the usual Just Cars or you can try shannons, but i think you need to be affiliated with a car club of some sort to be able to get cover from them.

Horse power is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you."

I'm insured with AAMI and they insure mods as long as you list them. I haven;'t had any problems with my current claim either.

i would say my car is more than just subtly modded

I called Ryno and they said they are now underwritten by Lloyds of London changing from Calliden Ltd. So now they are competing against Shannons and the like who specialise in classic and prestige cars...

AAMI did give me a quote with mods and it was decent, but Just Car gave a better quote and Just Car are willing to insure for higher agreed value rather than just market value. I tried NRMA, Famous, and Shannons too and they're all too expensive for me. Any other ideas? Does Vigil still 'not' insure ITR anymore?

Famous is now underwritten by calliden. I was previously insured with Ryno for my WRX and now im with Famous.

may be the case (i only have bolt on's, and prettty crappy starcorp rims), but yesterday whilst doing some heavy lifing in my garage, i dropped a 6 kg sharp object onto the bonnet of my car, leaving some nice dents and scratches. I checked if this was covered by AAMI, they said yes, the car is in my mums name so for $500 excess i get a resprayed bonnet and front bar.. byebye stone chips ans the clawmarks my cat left when i wax my car and kitty got tired..

                      =)

Shannons are very picky with modified cars. If you dont park it in a lockup garage they wont cover you...My undercover, 75% hidden car port wasnt enough.
