there are many "hardcore" track people that pass off jdm as bling and show.

Whilst yes a lot of the parts that people buy from such companies are often bling they seemingly ignore that they the company spoon/mugen race in more events then any other aussie company would most likely do.

Their minds are clouded with the fact that because all the "fanboys" are buying bling spoon shift knobs that company must be bling and consequently form a negative attitude towards the company and bling. Every company needs to make money to support racing, without funds there will be no racing.

IMO this negative attitude is not on. It does not serve any purpose and certainly wont make you look more macho because you are a more "hardcore" tracker. What it does do is divide the community and divide honda owners.

Well Said There Jing! we need a guy like u here to say things when its needed.

          Chucks.
Buddy i wish to give a personal reply in regards to some of your opinion and perhaps belief of the whole REAL RACING, REAL TYPE R, REAL DRIVER and perhaps REAL group of people who should buy/drive/comment/and now even to modify cars.
I been reading yours posts in the new CTR thread, and after reading all your posts about the whole TYPE R sprit, knowledge on how to push cars to its limit on tracks, how to drive a car to its limits, your passion over DC2,your great appreciation of driving such RACING heritaged car plus heaps more, had won my great respect to you.

However man, but i wish to point out a few things to you is that, your continuesly holding all your (you think your great passion has underminded by HOndas recent Type R cars and now ppl support Spoon for the wrong reason, or they just a bunch of softcock fanboy) attitudeS is start to cross the line and making ppl feel you are the one who lives in the wonderland!

First of all, you cant deliver the blanketing ideas of IF you NOT TRACK your Type R hard enough then YOU are not suitable for a Type R owner. Because YOu didnt and dont know how Apperciate the SOLE and SOUL PURPOSE of this creation by Honda.

Chuck, no offences, are u a track/race driver for a living? If not, then i believe u will have a job that needs to support your hobby/interest/passion/ for bring ur DC2 to the Track right? Means what Chuck? means you need $$$ to have a hobby/interest/passion sometimes.

As a Car Maker and Racing Work Shop, they need MORE $$$ to carry out their interest/passion/dreams and then more ppl perhaps like u, person who can Apperciate every single drops of sweat that honda engineers spent in its TYPE R cars and Ppl from SPOON, which 1/4 of a second means mile stone in the racing history to have BETTER CARS in the future.

Where is the $$$ come from Chuck? They from mine and your pocket, you have a dc2 , i have a dc5. my knowledge of racing/honda racing/TYPE R Racing/Driving your car to its limit is nothing compare to yours but i wish more ppl are buying honda cars because i know what happened to NSX-S2000-Integra-Preludes production line.

So the way i see it man, if you choose to be SO PASSIONATE about your unique understanding and standard of what your RACING BELIEF are in cars in general in the public forum/place. Chuck i hope, i hope you would share it with other type r lovers/owners/believers like me if i meet you in the track race way.Even thought i wont track my car but having the chance to listen to those is exciting enough (FOR ME) So Spread your Great Passion to the public, your skills and experiences of how to drive in the track.

After All man... HOnda needs you, and the rest of us.

          Cheers Chuck

            Hi Jacky,

I think you have completely misunderstood me, I didn't make myself clear enough, it's the problem with posting while working!

I'm agreeing with these guys that people aren't taking this interview seriously and offering my opinion/observations why.

"First of all, you cant deliver the blanketing ideas of IF you NOT TRACK your Type R hard enough then YOU are not suitable for a Type R owner"
(I don't agree with this statement. Before the CTR2007 thread I did, but I as I stated in this thread, I am "not one-eyed" anymore. ) Let me rephrase that. Now I have read it again, I have never meant to been down on the owner, but the car. Anybody can own a Type R and who am I to say what they do with it.
It's the CTR 2007 that I was down on, not the owners. But as I said, I'm OK with it now and those who do buy it, enjoy it!

Anyway Jacky, why do you think people are being so down on this interview? Because I still don't full understand why. If it's as Jingers stated, because of the JDM Bling, then that's silly, Spoon have a racing heritage and people need to see that.

i find this really funny as i was a bit nervous about JCE doing all the talking up of Chuck in the previous CTR thread, "Chuck did this, Chuck did that" etc etc

so it wasn't even Chuck who was telling his story - he got used by someone else trying to prove a point, using Chuck as an example.

Chuck can hardly be described as a *track whore*, but on a few of times he tracked - he got some great times, just proving what natural ability can do in a stockish Type R.

however - i haven't seen anything that Chuck has actually posted that has implied or indicated that people who don't track their Car are in any way inferior to anyone who does.

and it seems his comments in THIS thread ask why we are excited about spoon (a hardcore circuit racing company) coming over, given the majority of owners don't actually race?

sorry if i am speaking for you chuck. correct me if i am wrong.

Hi Tinks, no probs speaking for me and I appreciate you clearing things up. My posts were an observation on why Fueltank thought people found it, using his phrase "funny and hilarious". I used his phrase to be sure we were talking about the same thing. I am not a racing driver and now with family I really don't get to the track that much. Following is a brain dump that hopefully helps you all understand me better and realise I'm not flaming or trying to start something.

My observation in this thread is if people aren't buying Type R cars for the performance or even `Trackability' then they probably don't care too much for Spoon coming here in a track oriented fashion. That's not what I am personally saying, it's what I am observing. Now that is definitely not at all owners and maybe not most members of ClubITR, but the sentiments from the Civic Type R thread really changed my mind. Before that, I thought most people buying a Type R (of any kind or possibly even Type S) wanted to buy for the outright punching-above-its-weight performance that usually leads to the occasional track day or visit to WSID.

With CITR following on from CRSX, I assumed it would be reasonably performance oriented and subsequently track oriented. Why subsequently track oriented? Because, as several posted in the `passengers cause crashes' thread, you shouldn't race on the street. I personally don't see the point in performance modifications purely for street. That's just building a rod for your own back to test if you are actually faster than the guy next to you at the lights and on the way to losing your license and/or crashing.

Cars are an addictive hobby and us guys will always want to tinker with them, so I also understand the whole Tuning side of things with personalising and building your car. However, if that is purely for performance, I think you end in the same position, with a wild hot car and nowhere to safely explore it's potential.

Anyway, forget about me as I'm an old crusty family guy. Go Spoon, you guys have a great weekend with them and hope the interview goes well!

Come on Chuck, a family man doesnt mean he cant go hard on his passion. In contrast i think is the peak time for it!
