Wrangler has no boot so defeats the purpose of getting a bigger car.
          2nd hand Tucson City?
          Outlander?
          Jackaroo?

my moneys on forester...some light offroad capability as well..

Is it the actual 4WD look you are after or the drivetrain 4WD that you need in this car?

Obvious, if its the 4WD looks you are after, Rav4's good. If its 4WD drivetrain, you can go Suzuki Jimmy (cheap, slow but do the job ) or Holden Cruze (nice looking little car)

Bro, definatly get a 03-04 soft-top jeep wrangler. its a really nice car, and also you can turn it into a convertable.
love it. i was contemplating it between the type r, but ended up getting the itr because it was more fuel economical compared to 4wds

i really really like the forester... very nice seating position, comofrtable and ergonomically fantastic, nice motor, relatively good quality, bit boxy, but i dont mind that

and the pillarless doors are awesome too!

What about a honda CRV sport?

I really like the 99-01 shape. You could pick up an immaculate one with around or under 80,000kms on the clock for your mentioned budget.
