gunmetal.. is it black? wtf is gunmetal

i have ordered a set of gunmetal wheels with the assumption that gunmetal was the color of my dc2r stockies... then i found this

    http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?m...ls&prodid=1895

This looks downright black to me. I dont want black rims on a black car...

    talk to me people...

the name gunmetal implies a dark grey... and might also be a metalic look...

yes, it would be a fair assumption that teh DC2R stockies are "gunmetal"

from that link - you need a picture that does not have a black background to really tell...

i dont believe the Type C RS' come in a size suited to the DC2R so i presume you got the Type C's.
If that is the case, rest assure, they are gun metal in colour, as i ordered a set of these last year before i sold my car.
They are a matte look gunmetal, quite dark but certainly dont look black in real life.

actually, on the website, the fact that they are on the black background shows that they are not exactly black. Compare the black background with the grey colour of the wheels. however they do look darker than the stock gunmetal wheels for ITR.

but what type? i have seen Rays make black nuts, but will they be fine with these wheels? also, can i get gunmetal ones?

I see some that look like gunmetal on the SSR website

but they dont look like they are locking nuts.
