    Service / Warranty

    Hi All,

Car is due for a minor service. It is at 10,000kms - cant believe i have done over 4,000kms already after picking the car up at 6,000 kms

ANYWAY - Should i go to Honda for a service? Is there any benefits really since the car is not even a year old yet.

Also - Only mod i have done is Injen CAI - will my warranty be void if they discover i have changed the intake?

Reason why i want to go to Honda is i want them to check out the headlight covers and why it is dotty on the inside and if it can be fixed. Just worried that they will see the CAI and void my warranty.

    Any advice will be appreciated.

    Regards
    Justin

Yeah you should until your warranty is expired.

They might void the warranty because of your intake but I believe changing exhaust will not void your warranty as well.

    Header will void your warranty

    Hope that helps

    Erik

not like they tell you explicitly "your warranty is now void". they just make a note of your mods if they see it and if u bring up something they will point out ur mods and suggest that somehow they caused the problem...

only benefit of goin to honda to service your car, they do a half assed job of washing your car and make your tyres shiny, and they mite do headlight alignment if they feel like it.

You can take your car to any certified mechanic and have it serviced without having your warranty voided I think.

Just backing up Howie on this point, even though my car was taken elsewhere (than Honda) for servicing, Honda still attended to my warranty issues (suspension knocking).

cool. I called a Honda service dept today. They said if they believe the issue i have is caused by any modification then they will not assist. I guess a CAI will not be the cause of why there seems to be dots caused by heat within my headlight.

Wonder if Honda will fix or change my headlight cover - any other Type S owners try this?

Does anyone know any good mechanics to do a minor service, prefferably close to Homebush, NSW area??? I usually go to Josh at Proconcept in Ryde but he isnt available til next week.

Hanny's is a bit too far for me though.

I take my car to BEL but they're in Regents Park so not exactly close.

I think the car needs to be serviced by a MTA certified mechanic for the warranty to be valid.
