DC2R: What have you done with your center console

Just bought myself a DC2R and realised that the car has limited pockets and pouches for stuff and mobile/wallet/keys and coins...especially around the hand brake area.

Thought I check out the forum for some innovative ideas of utilising the space around the hand brake area.

Lol.. welcome to the world of losing even the smallest luxuries by having yourself a type R...

My phone: Driver Side Door handle
    Wallet: Under the ashtray
    Garage Remote: Under the ashtray
CD case: Passenger Side Door Tray (next to speaker)
    Map: Driver Side Door Tray
Coins: In Ashtray (watch out as this tends to jump out when you launch the car)
Everything Else: either in the rear seats or in the glove box....

not alot of compartments in the type r

I used to do the phone-in-the-doorhandle thing but my new iMate JasJam is too fat to stay in there. So now it sorta lives around the cupholder area.

Coins... In my wallet. I hate coins rattling around in compartments.
      CD Case: Under passenger seat
Other set of keys (my car key is on its own): Glovebox

Not a lot of compartments indeed. But the cupholders work well. haha...

you could always buy the centre console arm rest out of a Vti-R DC2 and use that if you really want...that will go straight in there no problems...

Thats one solution! Maybe get a USDM ITR console so the stitching/fabric matches a bit better?

OR if you change it to DC5R recaros where the knob is on the outside and not inside like on the DC2R

I read somewhere that you'll lose the Type R badge in the center console if you replace it with the VTIR console.

Then again I'll lose the badge as well if I were to stick some container under the handbrake....

I put my phone round the cupholder as well but it interrupts the radio signal when I have it on tuner....

I put the coins in the ashtray..but it sorta rattles around when I hit a bump on the road...

is that a four door cam?

looks like it has been re-trimmed too?

                        Yup, tis a 4-door.

Surely there must be a way to make it fit though... by looking at that

Just might mean your seats are a bit hard to adjust... but if you're like me and don't adjust them much/ever, it might be just fine.

I have a pouch that is wedged in between the break handle and chair. Useful for keeping garage remote, coins, keys, and phone if u want
