          Maybe you can help me with your parts manual.
          I need a part number for the Key Housing for a JDM DC5R it should be the same for the civic's.
          if you look at this thread for more info on my question http://forum.clubitr.com.au/showthread.php?t=2106

          Thanks Evatec

            Sorry about not getting back to you. Been away for more than a week.

            OK, if you have done a syncro and are about to replace, then don't forget to replace the associated gear as well. For example, if your gearbox is jumping out of thrid and hard to engage third gear, you will find that the teeth on third gear are worn just as much as the syncro gear teeth.

            The second revision part number are as follows:

            3rd-4th syncro mechanism --> 23623-PNS-316
            3rd gear --> 23440-PNS-000 std # - no revision

            I can get a price out of Japan if you want/need/like if the local Honda dealer is a little expensive.

              Thanks very much Evan.
              Am I correct in saying that 1-2 and 5-6 syncro mech' part No's are still the same as below:

              23626-PNS-305 SLEEVE SET 5-6
              23521-PPS-305 SLEEVE SET 1-2

              Regards,

                FYI, a brand new FD2 in Japan sells for 3,100,000 yen (roughly 32,500AUD) on the Honda showroom

                (I don't know if there are any/what costs associated with this purchase thereafter)

                  You can't really compare Michael. We are in a totally different country talking about a car where it is locally made for them and is exported to us. Its like the japanese people over saying that we get the Monaro here for only $XXX.

                    My initial comment wasn't a complaint - I was just pointing out that this is how much a FD2 costs in Japan.

                    ...however now that you've got me started, the same car over there would be sold with a $15k+ difference down here in Australia, IF we got it.

                    The AP2 S2K over there RRPs for ~$42,000AUD whereas Australia pays about $33,000 more for it down here.

                    Of course this is hugely due to our strong(er) dollar at the moment, but why can't Honda Australia capitalise on it and bring out the FD2 in limited edition like previous Type R's? :S

                        FYI the monaro is cheaper in the states than it is here.

                        I wonder what part there going to take out of the new Civic R to bring it here

                          All three syncro sets have been revised twice. The numbers you have mentioned above are the first revision from original. Maybe, we should start another thread discussing DC5R gearboxes, part number revisions and trouble-shooting.

                            You bet there is. The following relates to just one fee that amused me a little at the time. I bought my JDM DC2R personally from a Honda dealer in 1998 (Route 20 just west of Shinjuku, Toyko for those that are familiar with Tokyo). Before I was even allowed to buy the car, I had to show documentation that I had somewhere to park the car in Tokyo. There was a $100 fee for an inspector to come out and check with his own eyes the physical car park and that it matched the paperwork I had. Sure, if you are buying a car through an agent, and unregistered, things are a little easier. But there must have been at least 6 additional fees over and above the normal 5% tax and rego.

                              Evan,

                              Great idea. How about the thread starts with the very latest part No.s for the very latest syncro sets.
                              I need to order a full set of these ASAP for my race car.
                              If you could oblidge it would be greatly appreciated.
