    Bumping an old thread here.

So 2001 built ITR's have the CTR intake cam.

Does this mean it has increased power in the rev range?

Is it only 2001, or do the 2000's have it as well?

i'm interested to hear if this is true?
if the aus-spec 2001 model dc2r has a different intake cam part no., what was the reason honda did this? and are the cam lift/duration specs any different? is the power/torque any different?
or was it just minute differences with red seats in black cars and yellow seats in yellow cars rather than black seats in all cars but cw?

I just noticed we have a JDM 96 Spec rear suspension arm, instead of the JDM 98 spec.

You are correct sire the lift and durations are better with the CTR intake cam so you will have a slightly better power band with it. I'm from America and the forums we have over there explain it a little better if you want a good sounce check out ITRCA.com (ITR CLUB of America)

I'm confused... didn't someone say earlier, that the ITR and CTR had the same specs, but the end connector part is different on the 01 camshafts (similar to a CTR)?

the end connector is the bit that is used to identify the cams...

and the "CTR intake cam" and "00/01 ITR intake cam" have differnet markings,

as are the marking different on the "pre 00/01 ITR intake cam"

so (it seems) that there are three "Type R intake camshafts", the old ITR one, the CTR one and the new ITR one...

                    re-read post #10 and #12 for clarity...

That crazy. It is just the end connectors which are different, or are the cam profiles different. If there is a difference, does performance vary throughout the various year models?

                        yes, the profiles are different!

Following Cams Measured at 1mm of lift:
                        Integra Type-R(Through 1999 Spec)
                        Int-240 dur. / 11.5mm lift
                        Exh-235 dur. / 10.5mm lift
Valve Springs to be used: Stock B16A/GSR if using stock 8200 re-limit. Integra Type-R if using rev limit over 8200rpms.

                        Civic Type-R And Integra Type-R(Integra Type R 2000/01 Spec)
                        Int-243 dur. / 11.5mm lift
                        Exh-235 dur. / 10.5mm lift
Valve Springs to be used: Stock B16A/GSR if using stock 8200 re-limit. Integra Type-R if using rev limit over 8200rpms.
                        by a miniscule 3 degrees!

sorry for not making that clear earlier! MY BAD!

And the CTR cam provides a 'better power band'?

well, it depends how you define a 2000 model?

i assuem the only way to know 100% what cams your car has - is by removing the cams...

but srly guys - it is only 3 degrees increase in duration?

either way, if you were going to swap to a CTR cam you would just go straight to SpecA toda's anyway wouldnt you?
