Why not a Ford XR5. Golf GTI is good, but its getting to the "taxi" status nowadays. I swear i saw at least 3 - 5 Golf GTI on the road nowadays.

Or maybe even Mazda 3 MPS which has more power stock than a chipped GTI

Yeah guys Golf GTI's when they are chipped go HARD!!!! ( My friends has had it done to his). However they do lose some drivability cause I believe they almost have to much power at the front wheels. Provided you only want to drive it at 7/10's they are okay ( yes I have driven his) .

I would also say they go faster then a mazda 3 mps. The mazda is torque limited in the first two gears so you are not getting all the power till you reach third gear ( if you wanted a drive impression talk to vincent). But having said that they still go hard. However people on the mazda forums have been braking the standard engine mounts ( non modified). Possible a problem from the factory.

RX8's are good cars but SERIOUSLY chew the fuel ( even more then I thought for a rotary, and this was in my mates AUTO which is limited on revs). I know you don't want another two seater but I would say 350z FTW! Especially since they have upgraded the powerplant to get the engine to rev a little higher and make more power.

That's is correct. Hence, naturally you go MPS3 with electronic launch restriction....unless you like to do senseless burnout with your overpowered yet uncontrolled chipped Golf.

My friend has one with the ottelinger chip (sp) Puts out 350nm of torque at 2100rpm. Its seroiuslu quick.!!!!
