Will there be aftermarket support from Japan since Japan doesn't even have the Civic hatch.

Japan looks like they are going the Civic Sedan route and developing on that...so this Euro CTR is going to get screwed over??

            anyway..

JB has also driven the Jap spec's new CTR...and I bet he loves the Jap spec better because even though the Jap spec has slightly more weight than the JDM DC5R...it's still got more power to back it up at least (Check it out on Honda.co.jp)

And about getting parts for the Aussie new CTR from UK??? U got to be kidding me....it'll cost heaps even just calculating the freight costs compared to parts coming from Japan...not considering how much those parts cost in *POUNDS*...Good Luck with modifying ur new CTR mate

i think ill ended modifying the EP3 now instead but you never know the Jap might get out down graded version and start to improve on all the parts

Yeah truth...but if you want the parts that do the job and you like it....dun see there is a problem there....which ever way you mod ur car still cost $$$.....if you think so much better leave it stock mate....

I have to agree with this...has Honda Japan exported a JDM type R since the DC2? I don't think US or Europe had Integra or Civic Type Rs...can anyone correct me if I'm wrong?

even the dc2 that was exported wasn't JDM spec, the AUDM DC2R had a number of differences. the US got a lower spec type r too. im pretty sure the AUDM and the euro dc2r were about the same.

Yeah...pretty much understand that..but I remember reading some threads on the UK ITR forum that some import companies could import the JDM spec DC5R over there even though the JDM spec is not sold through dealerships

I'm not too sure about the imports in the UK...but I only know that like Hong Kong...you got both Honda and Acura dealership...Acura sells the RSX and Type-S and Honda doesn't sell the JDM DC5R nor the base Integra...but u can still get them through Car Import Companies at the very least (which is way better than nothing)

Unlike Aus...as long as the model is sold in the domestic market...u have so much trouble getting a JDM spec DC5R through Car Importing Companies here...which I think is so crap

yeah import rules in the uk are quite easy, they can import jdm dc5r's there are 400-500 in the uk at the moment. they can also import cars which were sold new in the UK aswell, dc2r for instance was sold new in the uk but can be imported aswell. wouldn't do much for resale values as there are still numers being brought in. wait for IrishR to see this thread he may shed some more light on it

yes can i say again how much i dislike the uk/egg-CTR,from both styling and dynamics (from the reviews in evo mag etc) ...and how much more i prefer the jdm sedan CTR, which looks much, much nicer and apparently rumours are that its performance and handling are more in line with real type-R philosophy (ie very very good!) ..

if aus got the jdm version i would seriously consider it as a possible next car.

here are some piccies from the honda jp site:

Personally, i don't understand the need for Japan to feel unique by having something that other countries can't. I mean, this is a business we are talking about and keeping something instead of selling it, is pure stupid.....maybe that's why Honda's always a low sell company compare to others.
