The looks just don't do it for me... and the weight is over 1200kg's. Probably be a well made car and a good drive, just not outstanding. Have to wait and see I guess.

At least we still have an R for sale in Aus.

Well...it's nothing of a surprise to me that Honda Aust chooses to take the UK version....they just never come to understand what us real Honda enthusiasts want ...they already know that we want the Jap spec without any doubt...but all they do is ignore us and give us what they think is better for them overall even after making such a huge mistake with the last Integra Type-R...I dun think Honda Aust has ever learnt from their mistakes much ...have a read of this from drive.com.au:

""Honda has denied suggestions it would dumb down the Civic Type-R for Australia like it did with the Integra Type-R, which was criticised for having less power and torque than the Japanese-spec Type-R (because Australia then didn't have sufficient supplies of 98-octane fuel), and the local version also wore smaller tyres.

"What you see in the UK you will see here," says Higgins. "This will not be an 'Aussie special'."

Honda Australia is still finalising equipment levels, but we can expect something *SIMILAR* to the British version that is built in Swindon.""

They are so contradicting as to what they say...here they say "What you see in the UK you will see here"...over there they still have to finalise equipment levels and only tell us we can expect *SIMILAR* to the British version...which means we are not getting what we see in the UK

And the fact is the new CTR is only improving 1kw over the AUSDM DC5R and has more weight...so to me...it's still a dumb down version of a Type-R compared to the previous EP3R models..which gave out more power...even the current Type-S have more power than the new CTR....I mean how can new models of Type-R still give out roughly the same amount of power since when it first ever arrived in Aust and never improved in the newer models

Yes...I understand it'll be better than nothing for most people...but to be Honest...I dun think it'll sell any better than the ITR DC5R that was here...unless they sell the Jap spec....I'd not be surprised about the sales figure when it comes out for the new CTR

sorry - just a quick statement...
everyone is upset at Honda Australia for what they bring in although maybe its Honda Japan wanting to be the best in class. Giving everyone else lower spec versions so they remain the envied

very agree with all u guys saying....

is like catch of a 22 isnt it? like when they first introduce the new CTR (euro) we like .. yeh kinda ok, remember the yellow one they shown in pairs motor show? geee that got some nice rims.. and my fave - the TYPE -R sticker ~~heeh and correct me if i am wrong.. do they at one point saying japan will b getting the same CTP as everyone? anyway....

yeh then u got this better lookin n better CTR from jap and ONLY for JAPs (as usual), even tested by JB - fresh F1 champ wow. seriosuly when u comparing those 2 CTRs .... then this news of CTR is landing here.. sigh..

mix feelins... but hope it sells anyway... for the jap sepc fan, sorry guys u gott a build it urself again with the base model. Not much to do righ, just chuck a mugen wing then u got 80% done...

                      cheers

                        My question is...
Will there be aftermarket support from Japan since Japan doesn't even have the Civic hatch.

Japan looks like they are going the Civic Sedan route and developing on that...so this Euro CTR is going to get screwed over??

                        anyway..
