    200000 km major service DC2R

    Hey all,

So I've been servicing my car every 5000 km, so I haven't taken it in to a proper workshop for a long time. I'm up for the 200k major, and I figured I'll take it in so they can check the entire car over to make sure everything's good. Plus I dunno how to do timing belt and other things.

My question is, had anyone had it done before and how much was it?

I'm asking because I called around and it costs higher than what I was expecting. As a baseline, Honda dealership quoted about $1550 with timing belt. Another independent known Honda mechanic quoted about $1100-1200. Does this sound normal for a 200k km service for a dc2r?

Well honda dealership will always be high , Iv already did my major service but it hasn't reached 200k yet I just ended doing around 165k , it cost 800-900 with my mechanic but maybe that's coz Iv used him for so many years 1100 sounds normal for a random mechanic

Well honestly I was only expecting it to be about $500-600 with the Honda specialist workshop I used to get my serviced at. I thought it'll be similar to the 100k service?

      Over $1000 seems high?

Timing belt/water pump ect will wanna be swapped over. Plus all fluids changed and a comprehensive check over the vehicle..

Honda state 8.6 hours for the 200k service so there's at least 860 dollars in labour alone
