Pull my handbrake

It's a really noob question, but do you guys press the handbrake button when putting the handbrake on?
It was recently brought to my attention that I'm the only one in my circle of friends who doesn't. LOL
Does it make a difference?

I guess that makes sense. I've always found that clicking noise very reassuring when I pull it up. lol
