Thoughts on a CRX/del sol?

Im currently in the market for a Del Sol mainly because it's the one of the only factory equipped b16a engines that are in my budget apart from a dc2 and also for the targa top ofc!

general thoughts on the car?

any things to look out for when inspecting one?

any common issues?

the Del Slow is a heavy and poor handling car - you need the 88-91 CRX if you want a fast car...

but if all you want is targa top car - it has few issues to note.

Rather than blasting you, I'll help you with your enquiry.

Things to look out for are (that are 92-98 CRX specific):

- Targa top seals (they generally leak after a bit of wear and tear)
- Rear window (ensure that it works - up and down, and smoothly)
- Check out the boot roof rack, ensure that none of the handles/clips are broken

Depending on which year you purchase, there are a few things you need to look out for:

92-95 models, the antenna on these are manual (pull up/pull down). A common issue is it getting stuck, so it doesn't push all the way down.
96-98 models have a motorised antenna, so be sure to check that it goes up and down smoothly.

Other things to look out for are your normal leaks under the bonnet, gasket leaks etc.

but you've provided good info for OP, i've never owned a targa top, but seen a few around that look pretty ragedy due to UV damage...
