about to buy DC2 ITR urgent question!!!!

    hi all
im new to the forums and hopefully new to a 2000 ITR but im abit worried about something and need help from u guys.
I just looked at the car and in the center console underneath the handbrake where the honda type R badge is should there be a engraved number on it???
    cause there wasnt !
I thought its supossed to have 00-xxx the number of production ???
    IS this right??

also i popped the bonnet and on the radiator support on the drivers side was
a plaque saying "HONDA DEC 99 DC2". Isnt it suppose to be DC2R???

and the vin number is as follows : JHMDC2310YS200625 i did a vin check on the net just then and said all the right details except for mentioning a TYPE R!!

it said honda integra 2 dr sedan
    nothing mentioning type r!

I'm not stupid but i looked at everything and it is a type R ! all strut braces, red recaros, gearknob, momo wheel, carbon fibre inserts, wing everything

i drove it and it went hard and was perfect whos to say im not delusional but i basically just want to check with u guys !

as a new honda enthuasist im just being cautious.
    Cheers Guys appreciate any imput

check the compliance plate on the firewall near battery...

not the 'build" date on the bumper bit...

    did you take pictures?

Check that the engine number on the block is B18C7xxx

The badge may have been missing or stolen.. best check with the owner on this one. They might have a proper reason for it not being there.

The Tyre placard on the inside of the Drivers door also says "Integra Type R" also I'm fairly sure

FYI that is a Integra VTiR engine bay, NOT a type R engine bay,

but engine number location is the same...

Judging from the VIN (JHMDC2310YS200625) number, the plaque should read: 00-0625.

Also regarding the build date, mine also said Dec 2000 DC2, but is classified as a 2001 model. Also my plaque says 01-xxxx. Also the DC2 is the chasis model, I doubt it would have 'R' specified on the plate.

So far from all your explanation, it does look like you are going to purchase an ITR. Congratulations and good luck

hey mate...i think i know what car u are talking about.

                            a white dc2r
built date is late 1999 complied 2000
car is full stock, only mod is HID's?
                            located west - Fairfield?

if so, this car use to me my friends car, he sold it about 2 years ago.

the type r plaque under the handbrake was lost from the 1st owner and he went to honda to buy another plaque - hence why it shows 00-000

if this is the car....yes it is a REAL type r.

a very nice example of a stock dc2r too.
