Thoughts on Air Intakes?

Hey everyone,

I daily drive a DC5R and I've been looking at upgrading the air intake in the past few weeks. I'm doing heaps of research because I don't want to impulse buy, but I want to hear your thoughts!

I've basically narrowed it down to these Four.

Apexi power intake

Mugen Airbox

Tegiwa Carbon fibre intake

ARC Super Induction box

I haven't heard much about the Tegiwa intake but from what I have heard it sounds to be a decent kit. Mugen is the absolute most I would spend but I've heard very good things about it. The ARC one seems to have some very mixed reviews so I'd like some feedback on that. Apexi seems to be great value for money and a comparison chart I found apparently shows how good the filter quality is


What can you guys inform me in the way of Intakes?

If you're going Mugen I think you need a front bar that supports it for maximum benefit.

Tegiwa is replica of Gruppe M, just go for the real thing. More expensive but save up a bit in the long run will be well worth it for a big mod like intake.

The ARC does make a different sound and sucks a lot of air on idle, no comment on how it performs only heard it running before.

No idea on Apexi.
