    DC5R Pulley Squeal !

Hello again guys. Having some really bad squealing coming from the pulley area on the bottom left of the engine bay. While at IDLE it's quite but when you give the car some gas it starts squealing like a bitch ! Any ideas whats going on ? I sprayed some spray grease into the pulley area but no luck..

    1) Sounds like a loose belt or could be cracking and worn.

    2) You greased the belt (which is a no no) meaning you should probably go and change it anyway since it may deteriorate / slip off since it's extra slippery now.

The good news is, once you replace it the squeak will be gone.

applying a lubricant to the belt will make it slip more.. probably best to replace your belt Teee.

If it squeals when you rev it, i would be suspecting the auto tensioner may not be reacting quick enough to keep the belt tight, causing it to slip

Being an auto tensioner, would I just need to change the belt and everything will be good ?

No it isn't difficult, however should somewhat be mechanically minded and equipped with the correct tools.
