    Exhaust Bypass Valves

    http://www.driftworks.com/qtp-electr...nd-y-pipe.html

Why are these things not more common? I think we all need them desperately.
    It's like the ultimate Varex.
Can weld them in whereever you want, go from stock system to straight pipe with just a switch.

    I kinda want.

There was a thread not too long ago discussing shortcomings of the Varex. Wouldn't imagine this being too different.

Harder for cops to see as they normally just look at the muffler. Also alot of exhaust are illegal due to sound!

Karl makes a valid point. A DC5R for example will only just scrape through a stationary noise test with pretty much the whole OEM exhaust in place. So anything aftermarket is illegal, but I think many of us are willing to accept these small illegalities so that we can hear the VTAKs.

That said though, a cutout after the stock exhaust manifold on a DC5 is uncomfortably loud and won't be allowed at most circuits. It's so loud and offensive that your mirrors will vibrate so badly you can't see what's behind you and you'll set car alarms off from a distance. Ask me how I know.

            How do you know? :P

However, how about if it were used as a miffler bypass at the track? Gains considerable?

Probably wouldn't notice any gains as a muffler bypass.

Just run it from the b-pipe with no muffler like I did and choke on the tasty fumes. (Note - Don't do this)
