    EP3 material lining under the bonnet

    guys, im looking for the sound proof padding that goes on the underside of the bonnet, for an ep3.

    anyone know where i could even find such an item? not soething they really have at honda access lol

    Did the EP3 even come with underbonnet soundproofing? I didn't think it did... DC2R certainly didn't.

      the black lining you can see at the top of the image. i see it on stock Ep3 all the time

        Yes I know what you were referring to, and the DC2R definitely doesn't have any underbonnet insulation.

        My mates EP3 didn't either from memory. Why do you want it?

          i really hate the timing belt whir. asked Dedy at top one, Josh from pro, hannys etc, they all said its normal sound, and that my engine was perfectly healthy.

          so i attribute it to the lack of sound deadening from the bonnet

                  my drive belt was squeaking before and i change it to a new one. The whir sound also went away for a while too

                        The layer underneath the bonnet is called a Fire Retardant. Mechanics are taught about it in their courses. It does help with sound deadening however its main purpose is to mitigate a serious fire if the engine combusts as it covers the flame and reduces oxygen levels within a confined space for combustion.
