I'm getting a set fitted tomorrow at Stuckey Tyres, will report back. Don't expect much though, new wheel configuration so I have no reference point.

Okay here's my brief review. As I said above I haven't used another similar performance tyre on this car so take my comments with a grain of salt.

          Previous: 15x7 F 15x6.5 R with 195/50 Bridgestone RE001
          New: 14x7 F 14x6.5 R with 185/60 Dunlop ZII
          1989 EF2 Civic
          No other changes

So I've had the tyres on the car for a couple of weeks now. The ZIIs are noisier than the RE001 from 60-80km/h where they have a noticeable wail, but above that speed I can't tell the difference in road noise. Ride comfort is improved, probably because of the taller profile, in equivalent sizes I'd expect slightly worse comfort as the ZII are definitely much stiffer in construction than the RE001. I cut 2 seconds off my PB at Winton down to a 1:48, predominantly from the greater grip of these tyres over the RE001, see HERE for a more detailed explanation with data.

Generally though they had heaps more grip under brakes and laterally, similar response to steering inputs and like the RE001 they would only tolerate a couple of laps before the fronts started to get greasy. The latter two affects are probably not helped by the narrow high profile which is obviously going to be more flexible and therefore less responsive and generate more heat, in equivalent sizes I think that the ZII would be more heat tolerant and more responsive than the RE001. They also gave much less noise feedback than the RE001 which would squeal constantly, and I think this led me to overdrive the ZII a bit and they will probably reward less aggressive steering inputs and less slip angle.

Would definitely recommend the tyres for a dual duty track/street tyre.

            Thanks for the review ChargeR!

I'll be looking at getting a set when I work out how to fit wider wheels on my car.
