Removing the following make it unroadworthy?

Hey guys, just a noob of question.

But for Melbournians, would removing power steering and air conditioning deem or citied as unroadworthy?

Only ask because, for one, the power steering is stuffed and two, I never use the air con.

Vicroads VSI26 on roadworthy requirements states this regarding power steering:

Power Steering
Any power steering pump or associated components
must work and be securely mounted. Hoses, pipes and
drive belts, etc. must not foul any other components in a
manner likely to cause failure. All fittings must be free of
oil leaks, however, dampness or staining around seals is
acceptable. The reservoir must be correctly filled.

You are free to remove the AC, but you do still need to retain some means to demist the windscreen, so the heater has to work if you have removed the AC. This is in ADR 15 or 42 for new cars.

So I don't see how a roadworthy tester could knock you back for either item, but I'd be sure to do a neat job of the PS removal with good quality hoses and no leaks.

For window demisting in NSW, hairdryers piped into the demister ducts is acceptable if you remove the heater. Or at least, it was in my EH when I removed the heater that was stuffed. 1964 car admittedly back when heaters (and seatbelts and external mirrors) were optional extras.

Re: air-con, be aware that if you remove it, it's a selling point. I wouldn't throw any of it out, in fact, I'd just leave it on the car if you don't plan on keeping it forever. If you do remove it, label every single part, bolts included, take photos of where they came from and re-assemble when selling. Remember that ACs are self-lubricating and tend to die if not used. PS - a rebuild is probably a better option.

I've read that paragraph in regards to the regulations for the power steering and thought it should be sweet if it was completely removed properly and neatly.
As well as the air con system.

Found a thread on Team-Integra to remove the power steering system out, so I'll give that a crack.

As for the heater, demister, I'd keep that in working order even though i don't use the heater also, even in foggy conditions.

I should probably ring around and ask a few mechanics who issue road worthy certificate what the case may be.

Thought I'd post here first to see whether anyone has been through this type of situation before.....
