In a Work manner Yes. As a mate doing a favor No. In my industry " electrician " you see alot of thing dodged up. Could kill extra. Or i even get called out to fix peoples screw ups when they attempted things themselves. Or hired a handyman.

Similar things with cars. i had bad work done before which ive fix. Also had mates in similar boat.

Personlly i prefer to do it my self. Or if its over my head, dont have time. Pay some one to do it whos licenced and has a name for themselves and also wouldn't go for the cheapest quote. You get what you pay for!

      Pay peanuts, get monkeys!

I would have thought there be a law about working on car as a profession without a license. I no there is in my industry! But people do it!

i dont quite agree because im not licensed but work on peoples car lolol
just because certain brothers are unlicensed and do dodgy work, hence all unlicensed are dodgy. not true ay, consider say benjammin / ecu-man.

really need to talk to them or see their work instead of gauging from quotes.

im not attacking you ey, just saying that unlicensed = dodgy is rather illogical.
analogous to roses are red, roses are flowers hence all flowers are red.

ive been to racing project, they do good work and not stupid price either.
msc performance is real good bloke as well.

Not sayin if you unlicensed you are dodgy. And im sure there is alot of dodgy licensed people.

But i no in my self. And from the work i see in my industry, Your more likely get a quality job from some one whos licensed in the field. It just like a card saying there experienced. It took me 4 years to get mine. So that means a license person has 4 year minimum experience. Complete my tafe, that more then 80% of people who start the course dont complete.

A licence weeds out alot of the shit!

Im not saying dont DIY on your car. or help mates out.

But if im handing over the dosh. I expect someone whos licensed and experienced. And i wouldn't mind paying abit more to insure the works done right!

Its each to there own. But if you work on some ones car. Were something fails, like the brakes and they crash. Would you hold warranty and property damage?

Im forced to have liablity insurance, suply certificates of complances for every job undertaken and many more crap.

Something a know unlicensed person wouldnt do! And would run at signs of problems.
