DC5 Front Engine & Gearbox Mounts

Mine are worn unfortunately and need to get a new set pronto, any recommendations on what I should go for? The mechanic I've had my car at is suggesting (including labour):

- Gearbox Mount $440
- Front Engine Mount $350

Any thoughts on those prices?

Replacement mounts cost anywhere from 60-85. For that price you might as well get complete 4 hardrace mounts.

Pm if you just want OEM mount replacement or hardrace mounts.

BTW who is your mechanic.... Top One charges $250ish to remove and replace all your mounts...

Are they manual only though? Mines auto - NRMA is where I had it serviced, unfortunately I haven't been able to find a decent mechanic in my car owning years.

Does a "mount kit" include engine mounts AND gear box mounts btw? Thanks for the reply.

Mount kit is usually front, tranny and rear mounts included.

For the price your mechanic is charging you, you could buy two whole set of Hasport mounts. You should try D.I.Y changing them. The front and tranny mount isn't hard to change. The rears will be tricky. Theres heaps of D.I.Ys on Google.

Now that u mentioned ur car is auto.... do not buy t baggers mounts. You will need an auto kit. Only innovative or hard race offer auto kits.. im not sure if esmm offer inserts for an auto dc5... the drivers side and rear mount are the same for any dc5.... its just the front or gearbox(passenger) side that is different for the auto dc5. Mind u dont get confised when u say passengerside mounts when seatching for it in usa as it is diffrent sides in america... u dont ned to change the front mount .. especially in an auto dc5 imo also..

Arncliffes too far from me unfortunately. What do you mean by not having to change the front mount if that and the gearbox mounts are what seems to be causing the issue?

Go to Hannys at Smithfield if arncliff is too far away.
