    Finally buying my DC2R!

Hey guys, little introduction my names Anthony im from sydney turning 21 and i've been looking at buying a dc2r now for about a year and its finally that time!!

Found a great conditioned one in enmore owners looks like a great guy too, comes with full log book history and is stock standard.

Any info i should know about the up keeping of a dc2r would be appreciated, i have been lurking these forums and ozhonda for a while now.

First thing first ill be washing this car with either mcguires or mothers and waxing it also.

BTW if anyone knows any background on this R please let me know.

Do you guys recommend i get a stateroads check on the car also?

    Thanks, Anthony

Looks like a very clean looking dc2 and its a good thing that its stock standard but i highly recommend you get a stateroads check done first just to check that it hasn't been in any accidents or anything like that.

Might also be a good idea to bring it to a honda specialist and have them look over it first that way atleast you'll have peace of mind and wont worry about finding hidden problems later on down the track.

General upkeep just make sure you change the oil regularly preferably every 5000 ks and follow the logbook service schedule as you would with any other car.

    Good luck with the purchase!

Thanks for your opinion mate, ill definetly get the stateroads inspection done, heard they are quite thorough.

Still tossing up if i should use it as my daily or just keep the run around i have now

if i may add. spend a couple of hundred and take it to a trusted mechanic who knows hondas and have a full body engine check done. inside out so you know whats up if anything (theres bound to be something but that cant be helped with a second hand car, just a matter if its major or minor).

also i reckon if you leave it stock, it would be a great daily. but if you want it to be a weekend car, you can do everything to it (just like how i enjoy mine as a weekender) :P

        all the best dude!

Agree. Take it to Dedy at Top One Auto. He'll do a thorough inspection.

I did chuckle at it's description of a 5 seat coupe. I wonder where they got the extra seat from (DC2Rs are 2+2)

Looks good, price might be a touch high but that gives room for negotiation, especially if you are prepared to pay cash on the spot.

Alright guys little update.. Not really a good one. Tossing up whether I should buy a dc2r or stick it out And get a turbo. I love the Way the R drives the close ratio gearing that change from 1-2 where your revs barely drop. In future u would love to get on the track never really have had the type of car too but I know id enjoy it!!

it seems like a clean car, price is high for a 100k+ car, when i first bought mine it only had 32k ks on it and around that price, good luck with the buy.

you guys are right, ive found another car on carsales, dilemma is its in orange..

Im really keen on buying it as ive come to a very reasonable agreement with the owner, I am able to inspect it on monday, tues after 4pm or wednesday, if there is anyone here with some knowledge id be happy to take them with me to orange and give them some money if they could look at the car with me.

Id be happy to travel by train or arrange petrol money with someone here..?

                          Thanks guys

                          P.s this is the car
