    Quality DC5R exhaust help

    Hey guys

Just thinking about exhausts at the moment. I'm after a cat back system (no headers) that makes a nice warm note on idle and cruising (still noticeable) and then scream on vtec.

Suggestions have included toda, rm01a and power getter. What do you guys reckon?

    Price, gains, looks, sound etc
    Give me your advice

    Cheers

while not the best looking muffler around, the powergetter is one of the best sounding

ive heard the powegetter catback coupled with the toda headers and cat (the exhaust im buying)

On idle it is not loud at all which i love, and when cruising it was not droney or annoying, but when you open it up...WOW

I personally haven't heard the toda or rm01a before, but I definitely guarantee that the powergetter is a very nice sounding exhaust Best overall way to describe it is is subtle at idle/low rpm, but screams when you want it to! Lookwise ... well I dunno, just looks like the average cannon exhaust lol. If you wait around, you might be able to get it pretty cheap second hand ... I got mine for $700 couriered.

Seems the powergetter is a safe choice for a catback !

Powergetter vs RM01A. The Powergetter has a nice tone to it which is not too loud when cruising and gives a good noteable tone when in VTEC. Though when it is compared with the RM01A, the Powergetter has been known as a show muffler due to a big cannon at the end of it. RM01A has been specially designed for track/race use which minimises noise level and gives the most out from the exhaust. Meaning RM01A gives better flow than the Powergetter. This is what I have been told by a FGK authorised dealer and this guy I know has been in Super Taikyu events in Japan (as a mechanic/tuner).

In the end, it's mainly personal preference. Whether you're after a certain tone or wanting the best flow for power, you are gonna be wanting both LOL. But I highly recommend FGK, not only that, they are also JASMA approved so quality is very damn high!

Hau, if you're keen on Buddyclub, I have a Pro Spec Catback if you want. PM me for price details. Don't want to be advertising too much in different category.

Question. Do PG sound cheap? Second question. Are they cheap? How much new or used roughly

Ditto steve! I've talked to some people about the RM01A and the general consensus is that it is a quieter exhaust but it apparently yields a bit more mid range power but less overall gains than the PG, whereas the PG gains more in the top range. Personally I run the PG and I quite like it. It's a nice quiet exhaust when you want it to be. Second hand ones go for probably the 700-800 mark and brand new they're more around 1.1.

From pure clips though, I like the HKS the best but I don't know what it's like in person. Be wary of bumper burn with the 70mm HKS though.

If by cheap you mean raspy and actual produce a farting kind of sound, then no. It's quiet and subtle.
