Same here also use meguirers tech washing agent and the meguirers clay bar kit. I think it's time for a proper cut detail soon.

Make sure you don't use CUT and Polish on metallic paint! Supposedly it scratches metallic paint?!

I was going to get it done professionally, my experience ends with a clay bar haha. I am not sure regarding cut and polish on metallics. VBP shows everything in sunlight, looks great after wax but a week later the marks come through.

Btw I find my car attracts a load of dust sitting in the garage for a couple days after a wash, what's the best way to get rid of it if the paint is clean?

Getting rid of dust? I'd say spray it down and chamois it up.

Kevin, is that because the 3M clay is softer? Im guessing this as I was reading this before bed last night:

              http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...ing-paint.html

It suggests in the winter months to leave it in warm water so it can be softer.

Also guys, with clay-barring, what determines the correct clay bar for you?

not really. it feels the same lol but the 3m one got more dirt n stuff off the car than the mequiar one.

The meguiars clay bar kit only comes with 1 clay bar and they want you to break it into 2. It also comes with a spray detailer. While the Mothers clay bar kit comes with 2 clay bars, 1 spray detailer and 1 microfibre cloth. Ive used a Meguiars Clay bar kit before and it was alright. However i tried the meg clay bar with the Black Magic spray detailer and it was easier to take off the dirt than the supplied detailer.

my cousin who owns a Ford 55' Pick up truck, muscle car, uses an ENJO glove and water just to remove layers of dust....

I don't see any scratches or swirl marks on his car? I doubt he would do it if he wasn't sure....

I've done that method before on my car and had no problems aswell...

But regarding Wax, i've used Turtle Wax and Auto Glym Polish and both have done wonders for me....

Going try Meguiers next time around

Has anyone tried the Platinum Visuals Clay Bar ? They seem to sell really well due to a very cheap price and keen on grabbing a set. Oh and also to contribute, for my NHB DC5R I always use Meguiars Ultimate Wash and Wax soap every month and it performs very well. Good between waxing! For cut and polish, I've used Meguiars Scratch X and Deep Crystal Polish. They have given good results, but never had compared them to other products though Scratch X is a very fine cut and is really good for small scratches only, don't bother trying to fine up big scratches. Polish gives a heaps good shine and is advisable to do before waxing. For waxing I use Meguiars Cleaner Wax, really good, hard to get off by hand, and you need heaps of time to give it a good finish with a micro fibre cloth. I've herd very good things about Autoglym products and would like to give them a try once I've finished with all my Meguiars products. But so far so good

Plaything , I have a Type S with the same colour paint as you and I use Auto Glym High Definition wax (same stuff the queen uses on her rolls lol), it's fantastic, even when the car gets a bit dirty it still looks quite clean to the untrained eye (as said above that is also because of the paint colour) and it makes the car so easy to clean the next time around. I also use their Ultra Deep Shine Polish which admittedly is designed for darker paint colours but it seems to give my paint a slightly deeper tone. I have heard good things about the Super Resin Polish as well. I must admit I find it unusual that you only wash your paint with water, but I guess that would help to not remove the layers of wax you have applied. Whatever works for you anyway man, each to their own
