I'd take the STi over the Evo any day (current shape). Any one can drive an Evo fast because of all the electronics, the Evo has no balance compared to the STi's and yes I have driven an Evo9 and Evo 6.5 (6.5 is superior compared to the 9 IMO) and a few STi (not current shape). The two cars are similar yet have a different philosophy, and I like the Subaru's philosophy, to improve a car by mechanical and balance whereas the Evo relies on electronics. Take the electronics out of an Evo, and the Evo would get owned by the STi's.

Yes i understand what you are writing espicially hte part about the 6.5 vs 9 but you cant really say "if you take such and such out of a car" the car is made with that its the equivlent to people saying if you take the turbo out of sti.

Of course the most important part of your mesage is "I'd". And your preferences are perfectly fine

Dun like the spoiless look or the optional spoiler. Maybe a aftermarket GT wing will help. The rest looks the goods.

But if I had the choice i would def choose a Evo, even tho i haven't drive both of them (dun want to either or else i will get tempted) but looking and following them on the track def the Evo.

i think he mean the drive is more manual instead of electronic controlled.

For pure looks, i will go for Evo anytime. For pure performance.....it will still be a Evo as it kick Rexy's ass anytime. For pure driver's car....i will choose neither. You can blame Evo's electronic assist, but you will also have to blame STI's DCCD which allows manual control over the power-to-tranny distribution.
