Track Report
What a beautiful day it was yesterday for the Final round of the Supersprint series. We came into this round with full of confidence after our strong result from Round 8 @ Eastern Creek. Round 9 showcase some of Australia's quickest car around Wakefield Park. It was shaping up to be a good day
Things didn't go to plan early in the day. With the morning session nice and cool for optimum lap times, we were searching for car set-up. We laid down consistent low 1:03's in the first two session of the day, with the R35 GTR's recording a blistering mid 1:01's lap times on their brand new slicks
We knew its going to be a tough battle to beat the GTR at Wakefield Park, due to the characteristics of the track. Power and traction are the two biggest element after car set-up for a quick lap time around Wakefield Park. We used what we had from last round, and suffered a lot of under steer. With some slight tweaks to the adjustable suspension and rear wing angle and still suffering from under steer, we managed to get the car to lap into the 1:02's bracket consistently. I was able to managed to string in the last 3 session's low 1:02's lap in every session with a new personal best time of 1:02.3
Overall, the team is very ecstatic with the result. Our goal was 1:01's for the day, but with its dying front tyres and understeer issues, we are very happy with the 1:02's. Next time when we are out there, we'll equipped it with some fresh front tyres and shoot for the 1:01 lap time. Car was very consistent and reliable. Check out its consistency for individual laps. It wasn't a one lap wonder! At every session, the car lap close its PB
