tune's not necessary stock ECU runs great with the JDM header from what i can tell Ive had no power loss, all gains low to top

a tune would give me more power but defiantly runs well with just the bolt ons

      Would this be butt dyno?

Has anyone done a base dyno, and another after the addition of just 98spec 4-1s without tune? A/F ratio differences?

mate helped me do some testing with a dyno today JDM headers and cat with fujitsubo work best and conformed gains all over reg range 145.7kw @7700rpm and 190.1nm @ 6100rpm

with the circuit converter installed there's loss of low down torque and slight gain in Vtec... so I've put cat back on it now

          AUDM itr headers are rubbish!...

JDM headers are bang for buck. What works even better are the tri-y headers on the b18c7.

tri-y. hmmm... do they have improved midrange torque? Are they like te buddy club ones Felix has?

would the TODA headers (which are the best headers for the B18C7 i hear. correct me if im wrong) have much more power over the JDM ones?

So i succumbed to the bug again... and I bought a set of non-dented immaculate jdm4-1s today... picking up a jdm dc2r cat tonight, and its all going on tomorrow.

Curious though, stock exhausts don't have a flex pipe??

                They use a doughtnut joint.

                Works just as well.

Heres news for you... Took everything off, audm itr headers and cat.. only to find the jdm setup was too short... infact approx 2 to 3 inches off the mark!!! Not bolt up as most ppl say..

so i'm going to have to take it to an exhaust shop and get them to extend the audm B pipe so it meets the jdm cat... in addition, they'll need to get a jdm triangle 2.5" flange as well - welded to the start of the B-pipe.

so today.. i, took the audm stuff off, and then put all the audm stuff back on... such a bitch to undo a 10 year old exhuast... lol

oh well, at least we learnt something today.

P.S. thanks to Lan for the info

thats always been a problem when you buy a cat back jap exhaust our cat converter isnt the same length have to get the jdm cat to go with the exhaust or modify it or use a test pipe .

The JDM cat is 15cm shorter...
Far from linking up to the audm bpipe

and yes the jdm and audm bpipe flanges are completely different as well. lol so much for bolt on and forum advice ftl.

but thruogh this experiences others will know

we could have told u a japanese catback wont bolt onto the audm cat...

Yeah, definitely not bolt-up. Need a JDM catback for it to bolt straight up. I had a short pipe made up so I could bolt my stock exhaust up to my Toda header/cat temporarily. I used it for about a week before ordering my RM01A. LOL
