Another year has ended has gone by in the NSW Supersprints season, and we are glad to officially announce that our civic has take out Class 3B. I would like to take time in this thread to summarize the entire season and thank our sponsors and supporters throughout the year.
Coming runner up last year with an underpowered B16a engine, we needed to step up the game this year with our fellow competitors to level up the playing field. So during the off season, the team sat down and had a chat with the direction of the car for the 2009 season. The verdict was a move to a B20Vtec power plant. With a new developed head and engine combo, it looked like a promising year after a good first dynoed session back in January. For more info on the engine package, check out this thread http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=118139. This little 4 cylinder revs to 9200-9400rpm on the dyno and makes 150-160kw depending on day and tire combo. The team was amaze with its rev-ability and has certainly proved that if an engine is built right, it can both be reliable and perform at its best. But its not only the motor, other aspects plays an important aspect to the entire performance of the engine. Thanks to Scott @ Insight Motorsport we installed a VIPEC V44 plug and play ECU into the civic to control the B20vtec. With the use of E85, the car consistently made 155-160kw at the wheels.

Overall the team is very ecstatic and pleased with the result from every round. Small improvements made to the car throughout the season with careful selection of parts and aerodynamic research has certainly paid off especially from Round 5,6 & 7.
The Team & Sponsors
Big Thanks to the BYP support crew at every event who has both help and support what we are doing
Props and Thanks to Dave for the freaky B20vtec engine package and all those tuning session. We’ll been through a lot this year at the very start with those late night doing R&D on this poor little B20vtec.
Thanks to Scott at Insight Motorsport for the set-up and tune of the Vipec V44. Scott is really switch on when it comes to E85 and Vipec. Highly recommended for any tune work!
Thanks to Jeff at Special Project Motors for coming aboard the team with a sponsorship for Hardrace and GEAR-X products
The Future
We are setting new and higher goals for next year. It might not see the car in the same respected Class (3B), but we want to show how quick a Honda can be around the track. The car will be more focused on Time Attack Events and Superlap 2010! The car will be redeveloped during this off-season for one last time at Oran Park GP before it closes
