printing digital pictures - FAQ?

hey guys,

might try to build up a FAQ on this topic,

i have a picture as provided by JPM photography at EC that i want to "develop" into a 10x12 picture

should i modify the picture in any way? it is a .bmp file

is it the right size to be printed?

i think it is 35MB when open, but 1MB when a file (i really don’t understand this!!!!)

so any good links that people might have would be helpful,

as well as any photo developing stories or businesses that people want to share...

plus any idea on costs etc...

basically - is that picture OK to put on a disc and walk into paxtons and walk out witha perfect 10x12 print?
