That's the same one as the one that first arrived in HK and was put on the magazine.
The owner must be pretty stupid and think he should push as hard as he can on the road with a new car as new as this when he hasn't even master the little bit and pieces about the new car's quality.
A lot of HK roads are tight and heaps of traffic all the time, unless u're on a big highway or u running in the middle of the night, highly unlikely do u have a chance of testing the car safely at all
Plus for the 1st 1000km you probably shoudnt open it up a lot.
why not?
i went the other way with running in the engine. on the very first day, once the car was at its operating temp after a bit of driving around i gave it the stick

I'd be lieing if i told you i knew why this is the case, but its what Honda recommends. A friend of a friend dropped a brand new k20 in his dc2r, and honda recommended he drive below vtec for the first 1000.

I have to agree with elwood...most of the automotive dealers would tell u to run in the car for the first 1000km, some even 1500km. But I ran mine til 3k before I actually gave it a snap , just to make sure the car is relatively safe to have plenty of fun down the track as I know I'll own the car for at least several years (considering maintenance wise).
most of the new car with thinner oil [or you can say its run in oil] to start with so it can run in better......after 1st service they will change back to normal one and check all the timing and stuff....then its safe to go.....I get this info from Honda when I work for them....
