    300kw DC5RC Build - with a difference :P

Ok so the topic is slightly misleading

Just a quick intro; my name's Trung, I used to work as a Honda Parts interpreter but now as a Speco Sales rep/exec. I'm a huge petrol head and a Toyota fanatic - having previously modified and tracked an AE92 Corolla and now a JZX100 Chaser, which has recently been retired. It so happens that I know Tom (ChargeR) from attending numerous track days and I'm sure you'll agree that his an 'round Mr.nice guy :P I joined the boards recently while looking for parts and track days but decided to create a thread as I'm now 'building' a new r/c body. Back in the days when r/c drifting was gathering pace, I was part of the RCD1 club that put on demos at AutoSalon and the likes but as the years went on, my interest diminished as I start modifying and racing real cars. Anyway, since I've stop racing the Chaser, out comes the trusty r/c! And so it's time start on a new body: a time-attack inspired Integra DC5R

The body is based on a Beams Integra so it comes with the Mugen kit. The chassis is a TL01: LA spec with pretty much all the fruit/mods.

Yep wheels with mexican spec fitment! I've only trimmed the wheel wells to see how it fits and what is required body wise. You'll see what I mean later on

Washed the body after finishing off the trimming and sanding. Note, I'm going for a 'outrageous' and 'full-on' look and so I had an idea..

..bolt on rear flares! Also ditched the wing for a Voltex version. I also masked off the bonnet to do a carbon style look later on. Excuse the masking tape, it's just to hold things in place to give me an idea of what needs doing.

Wing also has the raising stands fitted as well.

'Still in it's infancy stages and there's alot of work left to do but hoping to get it painted tomorrow, provided I can buy the paint if the stores are open. I won't tell you what colour so you'll have to check back, stay tuned!

        Nice build!

You should bring it down to Honda Nats - it might be faster than the beat...

Thanks guys! We should meet up at Monash one day for a drift sesh once it's completed. Speaking of which, I've had my fair share of bodies over the years

                  More progess today

Decided to go with the Type-S metallic orange, only slightly darker. You'll notice some overspray..

..but that gets covered up with decals. Peeled of the protective film and the orange turned out pretty good I thought. Stuck the over fenders on and got onto the detailing work.

It's not quite finished but it's getting there. Have a few things to do yet, hoping to finish it tomorrow and then drifffftt!

                        Ok, and it's finished...

I kept the decals to a minimum, not a huge fan of race-decals ect

The rear flares required more modification to get it to sit at it's current height. Still scrubs a tad though..

Finished it off with twin 2' blast pipes lol

Now, to make a drift vid....
