    A Trip to Nurburgring

    Hey Guys,

I've been browsing this forum for awhile and occasionally post stuff
This year I was sent to the UK for work and did what any Honda fanboy would
Bought myself a FD2R and VTECed my way to Nurburgring
Thought I'd share a few pics, this place is just absolutely stunning, I've never been so scared behind the wheel of a car than when I was on the Nordschleife.

I've got a clip of one of the runs,
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_jAd89e8Xg
its not that special, I honestly don't know my way around the track, but hell it was fun! I'll let the pictures do the talking from now on.

Crossed 5 Countries in one day to get there, including the Eurotunnel train

    MUST... NOT... VTEC... IN... TRAIN!

My hotel for the week, its right next to the long straight at Tiergarten Corner
In the mornings you wake up to the sounds of 911s and you know the track is open!

If you watch Top Gear, the hotel is owned and run by the Schmitz family, we saw Sabine Schmitz drop by a few times (aka The Queen of the Ring)

    The Nordschleife entrance

At any one time you can be on track with motorcyclist (some with passengers on board ) buses, single seater race cars, heck they even do track repairs while its open to the public! It's utter madness!

My first lap! You're allowed to take as many passengers as you like as long as they were seatbelts, that's the only requirement! Didn't need a helmet, long sleeves or any kind of race license! Just buy a ticket and away you go!

The car park was definitely very cool

I thought M3 GTS was rare, not at this place...

    Lots of 911s too

Mate rented a E92 M3 for 6 laps, sat shotgun for awhile, what a machine, but the rental company wouldn't let us turn off the TCS...

There was a merchandise store in the car park, they sell everything from t-shirts to toasters!this one printed an outline of the track on your morning toast

The track is so huge, you can go in any direction and find a piece of it.
This cafe is underneath Adenau bridge, enjoyed coffee in the morning and hear cars on track above

During most of the day, manufacturers do a group test together, we saw all sorts of cars on track, and they drove them hard. Most impressed by range rover really attacked the course with all its weight! spent quite a bit of time exploring the different viewing areas of the track

Some of these locations are pretty damn hard to find

but you can get really close!

We saw this SLS Black series doing laps, next thing we knew it was on fire on the straights!

From the noise this thing makes, we're suspecting its actually the new M3 under the skin, guess we'll never know...

Also visited the Grand Prix track
again, its just buy a ticket for a 20 minute session and go! absolutely no fuss!

Some equally serious machines on the GP track

The town of Nurburg and Adenau have motorsport ingrained in their everyday life

new BMW M6 under test, just filling up

      BMW Test Center at Nurburg

Jaguar F-type and Range Rover Test mules we met along the way

      The headlights werent finish!

Nice group of shots, gave me a nice background for the iPad with that fisheye lense. Looks like a great experience, would love to do it one day! where about in the UK do you live? I used to live in Lincoln
