    rear wheel bearing replacement.

    hello

i need to replace my bearing on the rear left side of my dc2R brakes.. are you able to just replace the bearing or do you have to replace the whole hub.. im getting mixed info from places..so i dont know which to believe'

if you can just replace the bearing? anyone know where i can just buy that part?.. and find out which one it would be.. i was told there are a few different sizes.. (ive tried honda spares but they dont just sell the bearing? or does anyone know wher i can find the product code?)

since a whole hub is double/triple in price depending if you get 2nd hand or new.

    any help would be appreciated'

    thanks

You need to replace the hub/bearing as a complete unit from Honda, which comes complete with new wheel studs too.

    Part Number :- 42200-S03-C51

I've ordered this very part for my car, and I'm still waiting on it.... over 2 months later. Very frustrating...

thye helped me out before with Honda bearings...

but you need to read out the number on the side of the bearing so they can cross-match it...

from what freaky says, you need the hub/bearing combo...

only way to find out is to email them to find out...

          otherwise it is Honda only...

OK, I finally got my bearing+hub!!

The bearing inside it is an NTN branded bearing, part number "HUB186".

Here's a pic of what that part number includes...

            Hope this helps... !

Also, a quick google search found this catalogue, which lists the NTN Part number for the hub/bearing as "HUB186-6"

Anyone want to see how cheap they can get one for? Because I really don't want to know....

Nah, I don't have any need for them.

                    Update on this item :-

NTN only sell this item to Honda, the part is not available directly from the manufacturer.

I thought this might be the case... Oh well. Looks like you're up for $250++ from Honda if you need one...

Nope... I *highly* doubt it now, after doing a little research.

This is not your ordinary generic press-in style wheel bearing.

The bearing is a complete hub assembly, the outer bearing race IS actually the hub itself. (See pic below)

This is manufactured by NTN specifically for Honda, for our cars. This bearing is manufactured for sale to the OEM only (ie. Honda), it is not available to general bearing distributors.

                            No problemo!

BTW the bearing install is a 30min job tops... the easiest wheel bearing I've ever done.
