Couldn't find all this information together on ClubITR so thought this post would be useful. If anyone has DC2 etc. or something is wrong feel free to post it up. This topic will be added to the sticky and cleaned up as appropriate.

parking lights and boot light take normal T10 bulbs too

If you want Matt for us guys who have JDM Headlights, i believe the globes are D2S HID Globes (around $200+ a globe!) from memory for both facelift and pre-facelift.
D2S is for reflector headlights such as the JDM DC5 headlight design and D2R for projectors such as Mercedes etc.

Needed JDM Facelift bulb size...

So if my OEM bulbs break.. or if I wanted to upgrade to aftermarket D2S bulbs, I simply just buy the bulbs + reuse OEM ballast?

Bumping this thread to clarify something...


Some sources say that DC5 JDM headlights should use D2R bulbs as opposed to D2S.

From what I've read, D2R is for reflector housing and D2S is for projectors.

D2R has an extra bit of film that is supposed to manage the glare better.



D2S is just a fully clear bulb.



Can someone confirm this?

Check with Carl (MYDC5R) I recall he has JDM DC5R headlights.
