BYP Racing and Developments - Damien's Time Attack Civic 11.6@119mph ALL MOTOR! WSID

It's been a while since we've last heard of a All Motor Honda running 11 second passes. We took an opportunity with Damien Civic EG and chucked on some 24.5x9x13 MT slicks to see the car full potential in semi drag form.

With the car weighing in @ 835kg without the driver, the car was 60kg lighter from its last outing without its big brake kit, track rims and aerodynamic aids.

It was a great night out for the car, with a minor set back with the first run with a faulty sensor plug. The car was a best time of 11.6@119mph 1.8 60ft (i know its a average 60ft, we've had our reasons)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhS7A...=youtube_gdata

Its quite an accomplishment to think this car can even run those numbers considering how it was set-up for this event. We aint here to make excuses, but the team is certainly excited for the prospect of the upcoming drag car

Here are some ACTUAL facts of the car for everyone to consider -
    - OEM internally K20/K24 - 185kw at the wheels (check out the MPH!)
    - GEAR-X Close Ratio Gearset
    - -ve 3 camber front
    - Slow 60ft''s. Should be averaging 1.6 60ft

The team knows if they pursue to keep working with this car in drag form, it will undoubtly run into the low 11's. Quite astonishing for such a simple engine combination. Goes to show you dont need big compression, strokers, aftermarket camshafts, ported head to make a K-series fast

The car will now return to its Time Attack form with a few aerodynamics upgrades for its upcoming jorney across the interstate border

you can build a 11 second car but cant dial out camber?

we have camber gauge you can use! it is part of JSCC's race equipment you can borrow

c'mon, dont go to the effort of putting on slicks with out setting up the alignment!!! we wanna know how fast it can REALLY go...

We are booked in for both Sat and Sun for the Exe day @ Winton. Come by and say Hi if your around

Tinkerbell, too much effort to go get a wheel alignment for just drags. Dialing out camber will throw off toe dramatically. Only did it to get some real data for the drag project. Not fuss with its ET. Only looking for MPH

                          Well done! Good MPH!
Simple mods + power to weight + traction are the key to run 11s.

                          Just like my old EGK24A set up back in 07. Stock k24a3 from wreckers with 50 degree vtc + Stock dc5r gearbox + Slicks . Did 11.82 @ 113mph ( 1.6 60ft)

Damo's civic has got the MPH to do low 11's as it stands.

I wonder who will have the first K-series in Australia to run into the 10sec barrier. It will definitely be good to see more drag car being built. I know of one being built at the moment. (Not including our one)

Yeah easy low 11s with that MPH.
It will be good to see 10 sec pass Allmotor Honda in Australia.
American's are hitting 9s already on the "Street Car"
