CAMS affilitation - need help!

OK guys and girls,

i have received the affiliation pack from CAMS NSW, so need to decide on a few things;

1. whether other states want to affiliate too, whether to do this in parrallel to NSW, who will be involved?

2. name of our CAMS club/s

3. who is going to be the club executive committee: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer (we will have an election)

4. when/where to have 'face to face' committee meetings,

5. agree upon a club constitution.

Sorry for the n00bness... if we have this club CAMS affiliated and we are a member of this club, does that mean if we're insured under companies like Shannons, then they cover us for racing on track?

What are the advantages of being CAMS affiliated?

Would the name of our club be something along the lines of ClubITR?

Maybe you, Dave, and other senior members of this forum who know what they're talking about can be the President, Vice, etc. I'll put in that nomination...

of course not, no insurance company insures you for racing on the track!!

mostly the support it would give for events, which include public liability insurance and personal injury insure ance for members.

but it is much more than that, it will take it from being a 'forum dominated' communitiy to a more event orientated club

maybe, but it will not be just integra's only, so must not make it seem to narrow...

e.g.

"Type R Club of NSW"

yes, that is fine. however, i would prefer if people nominated themselves for positions/committee.

if we do not have enough people to get involved, then we cant have a club, as part of the requirements is to have a FULL executive committee

fantastic! OK, you guys will need to set up your own Victorian club - basiclly a Incorporated Association needs to be formed, then yoiu can apply for affiliation with CAMS.

but i was just thinking... if its only for this forum... why not make it type R related... but then again the evo guys will be left out... so maybe it would be better to make it JDM related?? just a thought

well, to me, Type R is a 'spirit' and not related to Honda exclusivly IMO...
