    Review - '13 Supersprint Championship Round 1 - Wakefield

The 2013 supersprint championship season kicked off at Wakefield Park. JSCC were represented by the Minidisc Racing Division with their 350Z and Evo cars and pit crew. The opening event was so popular that the organizers (Mini Club) did not extend the waiting list and many cars in the championship missed out.

(Our new racing number magnets (sponsored by Nulon) have arrived just in time for the start of Supersprint!)

(Minidisc Race Division is now sponsored by Hankook)

Leon was excited about his new set of Hankook semi slick tyres on the Evo. The additional grip was immediately noticeable. The traction limits were much higher allowing later braking and faster corner speeds. By session two, Leon's PB started to fall thanks to the tyres and some short shifting. The Evos best lap of 1:07.87 resulted in 6th place in class SVC, 15th outright in a field of 91 competitors.

The dusty track in the early sessions had the 350Z a little bit sideways but Kieran was able to save it from any major incident and continued to scrub in the new Hankook semis. After session 4, the under tray had to be removed as it was folded under and scraping the track. It was damaged on the highway to Wakefield after running over a stray suitcase (!?) the night before. The wheel alignment was suspected to be out because of this and Kieran couldn't better his PBs from last season. The 350Z finished the event with a best lap of 1:10.852 and 2nd place in Class 2C.

    Results:
    Kieran 350Z - 1:10.852 2nd in Class 2C
Leon Evo - 1:07.870 6th in Class SVC
    Zeeshan Civic - 1:15.8219 7th in Class 2B
